Sevilla v. Real Madrid

Yancy's first European futbol match,
Sevilla v. Real Madrid. He was only a little late to see Beckham.
A for the trip, I don't really know all that much about it, so hopefully he will edit this part and tell you guys all about it. I thought that I would get the pictures up and keep the timeline somewhat straight!

He went with a guy from work and a local bartender. The match didn't even start till 10pm, crazy Spanish time! It was a home game, and we are only about a half hour south of Sevilla, if even that.

It was pretty chilly that night...but you also have to get a scarf at a game, so you can be supporting the team. I think it might be our only proof of living and visiting Spain so far, other than a small ceramic fridge magnet from Ronda!

So here are some pics of his good times...and Sevilla...our sort of home town team even won!

I have only put a few of the pictures up but incase you want to see everything Yancy saw...
The rest of the pictures are at: http://picasaweb.google.com/jacquelineenyart
We miss everyone, and hope you're all having a wonderul Thanksgiving!

A couple weeks ago...

So in an effort to catch up on our last trip here is our bit from Gibraltar. Again we had some free time, a car and that photocopy of a map so we thought we would try to find our way to Gibraltar.

We took what must have been the longest possible route there as we ended up heading straight for the Atlantic coast and following the coastline all the way down to "the Rock," as the locals call it. A long route, but gorgeous and we found a inlet that had a mass of kite boarders...a hobby-to-be for Yancy. I have only ever seen them on tele, or youtube and never that many in one shot. It was really impressive.

We made it down south and could see the Rock from a distance. It is as if Gibraltar knows that it is under British control because the sunny

Spanish weather immediately changed to socked in cloud and cold weather.

We traveled on a Sunday which translates into only food places being open and we arrived rather late after the round about route we took. We plan to go back to see the apes, the archaeological sites, the rest of the town. It is a funny place, I can't remember ever seeing so many liquor stores so close together and all open...on a Sunday!

My absolute favorite part was entering Gibraltar. Seen as we drove we took the advice of the guide book and parked on the Spanish side in the town of La Linea. Walking across you actually cross the runway. There are two strips marked off about 4 feet wide for pedestrians to cross. The vehicles drive in between and there are cross bar gates on either side. When we we going back to the car, a bell starting dinging and the cross bars came down. A man in a yellow vest came and shut the gate to pedestrians and we were told to wait for the small aircraft that was approaching. A few minutes later, a small plane touched down, and while it was still taxi-ing the gates were opened, bars lifted and the pedestrians and traffic took off.

For the whole trip, and all photos from other trips I have put them on http://picasaweb.google.com/jacquelineenyart

We love and miss everyone!

A luego....
